sunrise to moonrise - i’m spent!

ari had a romantic idea of getting up this morning to watch the sunrise at wategos beach, he’s an artist and wanted to ‘capture the light’ - brilliant idea.  he also wanted to have a first sunrise with the wee boy clansee too.   i woke at 3am to feed clansee and then just couldn’t get back to sleep, so went through my birth with myself again as i often do at that time (had a bit of a traumatic labour and still trying to heal emotionally), and then got up and watched this quite frightening woman on tele trying to sell some info commercial thingy.  anyway, i stayed awake until 4:40am which is the time we wanted to get up.  i made coffee, got the kid, got the ari dressed and we headed out on our adventure - it was raining - it was dark!!  after sitting at the beach for about 20 minutes clansee decided he was hungry, we had coffee but no breaky - shoot!  so back into town for the bakery.  clansee eating so happy, back to wategos.  it was so lovely, just a drizzle of rain and a dark light.  it took the sun til about 6 to actually get up though!  so we forgot it was daylight savings, aaaaggghhhhhhhhh!  so now, all day we’ve all being walking in this cloudy daze from getting up so early, it kind of makes you feel as though you’ve got a hang over without the freedom of the night before.  so i’ve been grumpy and not dealing very well with people, so ofcourse an electrician to fix the fire alarms would have to come at 5 just as i’m getting clansee to sleep and me over tired and wanting to sit down and go aaaaaahhhhhh.  .   .  so, when i saw the newsletter and little clansees pic there it just absolutely made my day into a joy!  thanks guy’s for making such a brilliant environment for us mums - you are definately tops!!

egomania

well it’s started - the little wee one has well and truly developed an ego.  he’s just 8 months and is in love with all food, but he’s going crazy and screaming whenever ari and i eat.  there’s been a few occasions at cafes that we’ve had to leave early as he would just lose it if we didn’t keep feeding him (i think he’s like a fish and will just eat til he pops!).  we’ve started to just ignore his little tanties and put him in his high chair whenever we feed him to try and make meal time a routine.  it’s fantastic he loves food, we just have to keep teaching him how much and when is food time.  also, i’ve just discovered ‘yogalates’ it’s a ‘fusion’ of yoga and pilates he he he !.  i just hired a dvd from the video shop and it’s brilliant.  i’ve got a bad back and have done stints of yoga, but the pilates of it really helps neck and shoulder /  shoulder blade musscles.  i just found out that it comes from a group in byron bay and bangalow so i might venture to a lesson - maybey, won’t put money on it  though!  xx

love to my nanna

i can’t believe clansee’s 8 months old tomorrow - crazy!!  i saw a 5 month old today and it’s amazing how quickly they develope and grow.  we’ve had a bit of a sad week as my nanna passed away, so i haven’t written a lot, will get back into the posts this week.  she was a lovely lady and had been very ill for a long time.  so this is just a little  catch up until tomorrow xx

puzzles and problems

we’re getting all organised to start putting together our business.  our samples arived and our business cards are done - yay!  now we just have to get a couple of our problems sorted and hopefully by the end of february/march we’ll be able to launch, which is exciting.  i have a couple of recent photos of clansee i’ll be putting up today too. xx

swimmin’ and sleepin’

well, clansee is very happy in his own room.  ari had to get up at 530 this morning and was counting on the little man to be the alarm clock but he didn’t make a peep!  i listened in on him at 630 and he was content chattering to himself, can’t believe it, little tyke.  we also had an afternoon with a friend and another little baby just 1 month younger than clanse.  soooo cute, she makes a bleating sound like a baby goat!  we swam in the pool and dunked clansee a few times which he actually liked.  he loves the water now, we’ve been paddling in the waves at the ocean every morning which he loves.  i love watching this time of discovery for these lovely little creatures xx

‘Give me myspace!’

after 6 months in our bed, we made the move last month to give clansee his own cot - which he sleeps in quite well once he gets to sleep ofcourse.  last night ari and i slept in the spare room to see how the wee one might sleep in his own room, and he slept quite well, still doing the 3am feed but goes right back to sleep, so i’m not complaining.  it’s wierd, it’s like clansee’s been giving us these little signs of when he’s ready for more of his own space.  here i was having this idea of having him in the bed with us for a couple of years! i was against usting a cot, and there was no way he was to be in a room alone!  but he has given us his own little signs along the way, and thus far he’s doing grand, clever lil’ tykes - mummy just has to catch up.

ruby lou

well, it didn’t stay cool for long .  .   . it really is so much warmer up here than in sydney, the mug factor!  well, it was cool at 5 when clansee and i got up after him waking at 4 and then me lying in bed declaring not to rise til 5 - so clansee grissled for an hour .   .   . eeeerrrrrr.  got back to bed though later.  thought i’d add my cat ruby to my site.  she’s a sweetie.  we met when she was 3 and i rescued her from the enmore cat protection society about 7 yrs ago.  she rescued me too i think.  she’s had to move a lot but now has the space to lounge around the house - she seems happy xx
